Gerry Meeks
Gerry Meeks attended school at Trenton State College, in New Jersey where he studied electronic engineering. He worked his way through school learning the construction trades. Gerry said that “some of the best times working were those years spent building a house with his best friend. You get hands on education when you build a home from start to finish”. Gerry Meeks started and successfully sold several businesses before he and his wife Sandra and his son Daniel decided to move.
In 2004 Gerry Meeks and his family moved and now live in southwest Florida. After settling into their new home, Gerry went back to work passing the states real estate exam and became a Realtor with Carla Bonten Realty, Inc. Highlights of his time working with this brokerage firm include working with his family the “Meeks Team” who soon became one of the offices top producers and was then also honored by the Bonita Board of Realtors with a plaque for being one of its top producers. The achievement Gerry’s most proud of was selling 11 homes over the course of 2 months.
With a goal of building a Real Estate Services Company, Gerry Meeks laid out his plan and started working as an appraisals apprentice which is required under Florida law. For two years he completed assignments and finished the 2500 hrs of education required before an appraiser trainee can take the state appraisal exam. After passing the grueling state exam Gerry Meeks put the second part of his plan into action and started his own company called “Professional Inspections & Appraisals, Inc.
Gerry Meeks goal is to develop a one stop shop were customers need only deal with one company for their appraisal and inspections. Gerry believes that this approach can save home buyers money on their closing costs as well has to help the buyer to becoming a more educated consumer.
Gerry Meeks is a state licensed residential appraiser and FHA approved. He works with major lending institutes and mortgage brokers. He is certified to appraise and develop costs to cure for his Reo clients, handles construction draws for many banks and is qualified and trained to teach a trainee appraiser.
Part three of Gerry Meeks plan was to become a certified and licensed property inspector. Gerry aligned himself and his company with InterNachi (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) and completed another round of continuing education and tests. Recently Gerry completed the Florida Dept. of Health’s requirements and passed their test to become state licensed for radon measurement and radon mitigation in a home. As Gerry’s company continues to expand; he will continue to study for state mold certification, add on more inspectors and develop new business alliances with inspection firms that offer other inspections like termite, well, and septic.
Gerry Meeks’ other interests outside of work include coaching his son’s soccer team, skiing, and tennis. On a less physical note he plays the guitar for relaxation. His most recent endeavor is working with and promoting the Mission of Hope Haiti organization.
In the fall of 2008, Gerry Meeks started helping a nonprofit organization, Mission of Hope Haiti that helps kids and their families, by providing food, supplies and building orphanages and hospitals on the island nation. It became a family affair when in the summer of 2009 Gerry’s son Daniel, age 12 collected over 200lbs of school supplies to be delivered to the missions schools. One of the stateside support groups for Mission of Hope Haiti is a group of young adults called “Crew” who work tirelessly raising funds and once a year travel to Haiti to as they say “spread the love”. Gerry exclaims that it has been “an honor and a privilege getting to know these dynamic individuals”. For more information about the Mission of Hope Haiti organization, please visit
